The RockThe first official footage is finally out there for “G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra” and now it’s up to you. Is this first sneak peek making you scream “Yo Joe, that’s awesome!” or “No Joe! What the hell?!?” The thirty second spot set for a worldwide broadcast debut tomorrow night during the Super Bowl is available via a sneak peak over at Coming Soon right now.

So what do you think? The characters are all there. Sienna Miller is a sultry baroness. That’s for sure. But what about Channing Tatum as Duke? Dennis Quaid as Hawk? Christopher Eccleston as Destro? Clearly the action is big (the poor Eiffel Tower…) and yes, Snake Eyes does a cool flip or two but what’s your sense of the story? Can this possibly deliver the live-action Joe adventure we’ve all craved for so long?

Don’t hold back. Tell us what you think.

Channing TatumIt looks like Channing Tatum is gunning for our next list of badass greats. He’s racking up plenty of action roles, which some find surprising given his “Step Up” past. But come on — would you actually dare to mock this guy for his dancing skills? I didn’t think so.

According to Variety, Tatum is set to star in “The Brotherhood of the Rose,” an adaptation of the David Morrell thriller. He’ll play one of two orphans raised by a CIA operative, and trained to become an assassin. Both boys become targets themselves in a game of double-crossing and deadly espionage.

(Here it should be pointed out that Morrell was the father of Rambo — he wrote the novel “First Blood,” which turned into a little action movie you might have seen. So now you know what kind of blood and guts you’re in for.)

Dito Montiel will write and direct the film for Warner Bros. He’s obviously a Tatum fan, since he just directed him in “Fighting,” which hits theaters on April 24. Tatum will also be seen as Duke in “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” and Pretty Boy Floyd in “Public Enemies.” Gangsters, GI Joes, fighters, and assasins — we get it, Channing. We’ll pencil you on the list for our badass showdown in 2020.

MTV readers, are you excited to see Tatum do something besides dance? Or are all these action roles a bit too much, and you’d rather see him show his soft side in romances like “Dear John”?

During a recent interview with MTV News, Michael Cera refuted rumors that he was the lone hold-out on an “Arrested Development” movie. At least one man at the top agrees. Speaking with MTV, Ron Howard laughed off any sign of worry that Michael Cera won’t be onboard for a big-screen feature. Despite the long-gestating nature of the project, the “Frost/Nixon” director remained positive.

“There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm within the cast,” said Howard. Asked if he thought the original “Arrested Development” cast would be reassembled for the film, he was optimistic. “I think so. I haven’t spoken to everybody, but everybody loved doing the show.”

However, there is definitely a disconnect somewhere between the show’s narrator-cum-film-director/producer and Cera, if the “Juno” star’s opinions are to be believed. Then again, Howard may know something he’s not telling. Whatever an “Arrested Development” cast looks like, though, it’s going to be noticeably amputated if Cera’s character, George-Michael, is a no-show.

As Howard indicated, though, the project is still in its early stages, so there is probably still time to wrangle those cast members who might still need convincing.

“Mitch Hurwitz is working on the script right now,” Howard cautioned. “Everybody is excited, but it’s not a ‘go’ movie.” The director also expressed faith in Hurwitz’s rapport with the cast as the show’s creator.

“When we really know what people’s schedules are, really know what the screenplay is, I’m sure Mitch will connect with everybody,” he assured.

Do you expect to see Michael Cera back at George-Michael for an “Arrested Development” film? What options do you think Hurwitz and Howard have if he declines? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comment section!

Emily BluntJack Black has some friends to hang out with in Lilliput. Variety reports that Emily Blunt and Jason Segel have signed on for Rob Letterman’s “Gulliver’s Travels,” a re-imagining of the Jonathan Swift classic.

Black will play Lemuel Gulliver, a travel writer who takes an assignment to the Bermuda Triangle and ends up washing ashore on the island of Lilliput, where he is a giant among the tiny population. Blunt will play a Lilliputian princess who falls for Black. Segel will play Horatio, a Lilliput native who quickly becomes Guilliver’s best friend, and who helps him escape when he is captured.

As expected, Letterman’s film is a pretty big departure from Swift’s original tale, which mocked the English royal court, and the wars of his time period, and lacked a romantic subplot. How will that romance resolve itself, I wonder?

In other news, in a really lousy twist of scheduling fate “Gulliver” might put Blunt’s role as Black Widow in “Iron Man 2″ in jeopardy. Both “Guilliver” and “Iron Man 2″ are set to begin shooting in the spring, and her representatives are currently negotiating with Fox and Marvel in order that she might play Natasha Romanov and a Lilliput princess.

Readers, does a re-imagining of “Guilliver’s Travels” appeal to you more than the bitter original? Does the cast have you looking forward to this one, or would you rather see Blunt in “Iron Man 2″?

Hilary SwankPlaying the most vicious man in “Watchmen” just might have influenced Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s dark side. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgan has signed on to star opposite Hilary Swank in “The Resident.”

As we reported earlier, Swank will play a young doctor who finds the perfect loft apartment, but begins to feel a little creeped out in her new home. It turns out she’s not alone, and that her handsome and charming landlord is spying on her. He’s become obsessed with her, and begins stalking her in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game which can only end badly.

To add to the creep factor, Morgan was Swank’s love interest in “P.S. I Love You.” Obviously, they got along really well, but decided that a romantic comedy just didn’t cut it for the fear factor. Yikes.

The film will be the debut of Finnish director Antti J. Jokinen, who started out as a music video director for Beyonce, Will Smith, and Shania Twain. He also cowrote the film with Robert Orr, and brought in Erin Cressida Wilson to do a rewrite. The film is set to begin shooting in May.

MTV readers, can The Comedian get you to see this thriller? Or do you wish Jeffrey Dean Morgan would ditch the scary stuff and be an actual comedian in a film?

Dominic WestIf “300″ left you desperate for Old World, over-the-top carnage, you’re in luck. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Neil Marshall (”Doomsday”) will finally be moving forward with “Centurion.” He’s landed two ex-Spartans for it too — Michael Fassbinder and Dominic West have both signed on to star alongside Bond girl Olga Kurylenko. Eye candy for the girls and the boys both!

Marshall penned the script, which is being described as a thriller set during the Roman invasion of Britain in 117 A.D. It’s centered on one Quintus Dias, the sole survivor of a Roman frontier fort that was raided by the Picts. He joins the legendary Ninth Legion, led by General Virilus, who are marching under orders to eliminate the entire Pictish race and their leader, Gorlacon.

It’s not clear which Spartan plays which Roman soldier, but there promises to be a lot of beheadings, gratuitous gore, and maybe even an impalement or two. If you’ve seen “Doomsday,” you know exactly what you’re in store for — and it isn’t going to be historical accuracy.

Still, wouldn’t you rather watch a film that reveled in that instead of claiming to be a “real” story like a recent version of King Arthur?

Readers, are you into seeing some historically inaccurate violence? Can you be lured in by the sexy cast? Or will it be too silly for your movie dollar?
