Larry King announced this week that he'll be retiring from his post at CNN. For 25 years, King has served as the host of "Larry King Live," making up roughly half of a career as a radio and television host that spans more than 50 years. He's now chosen to pack it in gracefully, and we here at MTV applaud the superlative work he's done over the years.

Sure, King probably wants to just chill and enjoy his retirement by sticking close with his family. But he's been planning this change for awhile, and he's leaving the game in style. King is all set to appear in a range of upcoming movies, as these beautifully Photoshop'd posters (big ups to MTV producer and Photoshop ninja Sohyung Kang!) illustrate. While making the press rounds on "The Kids Are All Right," actor Mark Ruffalo spoke with MTV News about a new project he just recently signed on for — "The Normal Heart," based on the semi-autobiographical play written by Larry Kramer.

According to Ruffalo, he would play the lead role of Ned Weeks based on a screenplay written by Larry Kramer himself. "Glee" and "Nip/Tuck" creator Ryan Murphy is also involved, though it's currently unknown whether he's participating as a director, producer or something else.

"I just signed on tentatively with Ryan Murphy to do 'The Normal Heart,' which is the Larry Kramer play," Ruffalo told MTV. "It's really beautiful. Larry Kramer did a script adaptation. It's really powerful and strong and beautiful."

"It's basically a story of when the AIDS outbreak happened in New York," he explained of the film's premise. "It wasn't really taken seriously, I think specifically because it was 'the gay cancer,' they called it. I think it's a really interesting time in America. I think to see someone who really does change the world by his commitment and he's even totally by himself at times, there's still a real power in that. I love that it's a people-powered movement that actually changed the way our government looked at this epidemic. I think there's a real powerful message to that and something that we forget. We can get really cynical about what we can do, it gets stacked against us and they're all corrupt — and at the end of the day, everything starts with people. The reason they're there is because of us. "

Ruffalo said that he's taken the past year off from work in order to spend more time with his children, and it would take a very special project to drag him away from his family right now. It would appear that "The Normal Heart" is one such special project. Beyond the film's sensitive subject matter, Ruffalo said he's excited by the opportunity to play leading man Ned Weeks.

"It's a juicy part," he said. "It's just a great role, man. He's a fighter, you know?"

Paranormal ActivityEveryone has their own unique way to kick off the day after hopping out of bed. Hit the gym early, eat the same breakfast every day, what have you — but I'm pretty sure that most of us aren't used to watching terrifying trailers for highly anticipated horror movies first thing in the morning. That wasn't the case for some of us today as the "Paranormal Activity 2" trailer burst online and took the fan community completely by surprise. Now, it's nearly impossible to think about anything else for the rest of the day.

Of course, they call these things teasers for a reason. Frankly, we still don't know a whole heaping lot about the story of "Paranormal Activity 2," but that doesn't mean we can't make a few educated guesses here or there. After the jump, we're offering some ideas for where the sequel might take us based on what we already know and speculation from the trailer. Spoilers for the first film are in full effect!

- Micah and Katie are gone. It's possible that we'll see them again in some capacity, perhaps as a flashback or some kind of news report, but the initial "Paranormal" leads won't take center stage in this upcoming sequel. What makes me say that? Well, the fact that Micah bit the bullet at the end of round one while Katie remained possessed, for starters. Seeing as "Paranormal 2" seems to feature a baby, something tells me that the deceased and the possessed parties would have some trouble procreating.

- Then again, Katie could still return. Sure, Katie Featherston told us last month that she wasn't sure if she'd return for the sequel, but come on... you don't really believe that, do you? Take another look at the woman who emerges in the door way around 3:53:55 AM in the trailer — that could very easily be our dearly demented Katie coming back for another haunting.

- Another possibility regarding that nightmarish woman is that she's actually totally normal. Maybe she's the baby's mother and the dog just doesn't particularly like her. That's the beauty of sound editing, folks — we're being led to believe that this woman is crazy, creepy and all that fun stuff, but perhaps she's no creepier than you or I. (Okay, I can get a little bit creepy sometimes.)

- Let's imagine that this woman really is someone to fear. If that's the case, where are the baby's parents? Here's an idea... maybe they're not in the movie. "Paranormal Activity" was considered a triumph for its unique handling of the found footage concept. Is that going to be enough to keep audiences interested for round two? Maybe not.

- Maybe, just maybe, director Tod "Kip" Williams is going in a drastically different direction by focusing the movie entirely on the dog and the baby as the main characters. What better way to up the ante than to focus the majority of the scares on two completely helpless life-forms who can't fight back against a haunting? It would be like the horror movie version of "Cast Away" — no dialogue, plenty of thrills. That's my big prediction, folks... you heard it here first!
